Heat is an inevitable product of air compression
A complete ER energy recovery system includes:
• An installation kit for improving the compressor cooling water flow.
• The recovered energy is transferred from the compressor's cooling system to the energy recovery module (HC).
• A heat sink (HE) is connected to the cooling tower to maintain the compressor's required temperature range.
The ER energy recovery module recovers a significant portion of the heat of compression from the oil-free screw air compressor. Depending on the heating process, the recovered heat is equivalent to between 70% and 95% of the shaft power.
When configured with a waste heat regeneration dryer, approximately 50% of the final stage heat of compression is consumed, resulting in only approximately 80% of the shaft power being recovered.
A milk powder factory in Guangzhou relies on three oil-free screw compressors, three chillers, an electric dryer, and a rotary dehumidifier. Electric heaters are used for drying and dehumidifying containers. Ruikan was invited to help the factory reduce energy costs.
Ruikan implemented its energy solutions on-site: an EEM system at the compressor station reduced high-voltage belts and excessive unloading time; an EEM system at the refrigeration station increased the overall energy efficiency of the refrigeration system from 3.45 to 4.37; and an ER energy recovery unit continuously provides heat for drying and dehumidification, while meeting the high cleanliness requirements of GMP.
These measures have resulted in a total annual cost savings of 270,000 yuan.
